Nike Of Samothrace Description

A reconstruction of the original statue, stolen in 1867 and now kept in Louvre. The construction is, assembled from the dumpster around it. The installation has been realized by a group of volunteers, with the aim of raising awareness on the issues of, that affect the island as much as modern culture. The statue is an invitation to reflect on the unsustainable, resource-intensive behaviors in a resourced-limited environment, especially if in an island! The creators don't think this is a valuable substitute for the original statue and think that the original should still be given back from Musée du Louvre to the rightful owners.
